Spatial Tape

For my spatial tape piece I decided to do something a little different.  After working several times on several ideas that created space with tape, I decided to use tape to take away space. Using the tape I removed the parts of the human body which have culturally been stripped from women.  Their space is no longer their space, but that of who controls women.  Overlaying the marker figure shows the desire to reclaim one's own body as one sees fit. The third image has the tape stuck back over the marker image to show the never-ending fight to cover women up.
